Cognitive Features and Clinical Course of Lewy Body Dementia Lead Investigator: Diane Jacobs Institution : UC San Diego E-Mail : djacobs@ucsd.edu Proposal ID : 1161 Proposal Description: The proposed research aims to characterize the cognitive features and clinical course of Lewy body dementia (LBD). Inclusion criteria are (1) a clinical diagnosis of MCI or dementia due to LBD or (2) presence of limbic or cortical Lewy bodies on neuropathological exam. Cognitive features will be characterized using cross-sectional data from the NACC UDS Neuropsychological Test Battery and longitudinal rate of decline will be assessed on measures of cognition and function. Results will elucidate the clinical characteristics and course of LBD and will be used to inform clinical trial design with regard to anticipated rate of decline.
